Nutrition Tips for Busy Parents

Nutrition Tips for Busy Parents

Does anyone else feel like parenthood can be both completely exhausting and the most rewarding, all at the same time? Is that a hand going up over there?

Believe me, I get it.

My name is Hallie Stephenson, and I am popping over here to the blog at Sneakz to give you a little glimpse into my (very busy) everyday life. I am the mother of two precious children who are as unique as can be, and I could not be more proud of my spitfire, strong-willed, compassionate daughter Sawyer Gray, and her heart-centered baby brother, Barrett.

Professionally, I am an entrepreneur that is actively building my business as a health and wellness professional where I help clients reconnect with their intuition when it comes to health and wellness. For me, there is nothing more professionally rewarding than helping guide my clients through their “Aha” moments and watching their lives change for the better! For my health coaching business, I curate an Instagram page @eat_real_live_fully that allows me to connect with people and showcase my creative side. Aside from health coaching, I am also a fitness professional that teaches barre fitness classes. If all of that wasn’t enough, I am an aspiring author, working on authoring an online course, and I regularly host retreats for women to be immersed in a bubble of health and wellness. I have my days structured so that I am able to work from home and be present with my kids while following what I am truly passionate about health and wellness.

I get asked on a regular basis how I am able to do all that I do and continue to eat and feed my children healthy. So here are my top five tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle while living a thriving life!

Declare Health a Priority

The first thing that I do is decide that healthy eating has to be a priority for me. Once I declare it as such, I actively make decisions each day to honor that priority. As a busy parent, you know that if something isn’t a priority it will fall to the wayside. Decide day after day that health and wellness are paramount.

Have Delicious Food Ready to Grab-and-Go

I prepare some meals and healthy snacks ahead of time so they will be available for grab-and-go. I make sure to make foods that my family actually wants to eat. Trying to force anyone to eat something because they “should” eat it never ends well. Find healthy foods that your family enjoys and have them readily accessible.

Learn How to Read Labels

So many companies out there claim to be healthy and intentionally brand their packaging as such. However, the claims on the front of the package really mean nothing in the grand scheme of things. Flip the package around and read the list of ingredients first. The first step into reading labels is to make sure you are able to pronounce and identify every single ingredient listed.

Don’t Do it Alone

There are a lot of people out there that are overwhelmed into thinking that they have to do it all alone! Thankfully that isn’t the case. There are so many responsible companies out there that are transparent with their ingredients, use real food as the base of their products, and help make life easier. Sneakz is one of these products for me! I use their protein powder in smoothies for my daughter and my husband takes it in a blender bottle with a little nut milk. I even make protein pancakes and waffles for a little extra fun for my family. Side Note- There is a giveaway happening on the Sneakz page if you would like a chance to try them out for free!

Avoid Comparison Paralysis

The Internet is so unique in that it can be both a fabulous resource of knowledge…while also being the most defeating judgmental place ever. Know that people only share their highlight reel of successes, while keeping their failures to themselves. No human being is perfect, so don’t try to hold yourself to those standards either. Do your best, and know that at the end of the day, YOU know best.

So remember, take little steps each day and know that each day you don’t have to be perfect! Give yourself a little grace and take each decision one at a time. Happy, healthy living!
