🌟 Meet Eden: Our Summer Intern Shaking Things Up at Sneakz

🌟 Meet Eden: Our Summer Intern Shaking Things Up at Sneakz

We’re thrilled to introduce ourĀ Summer 2025 intern, Eden Bedoya! Eden is already diving into her work with energy and passion—from developing a brand-new kids' beverage to writing weekly behind-the-scenes updates, and even helping us explore the best ways to reach more families online.

Her story is inspiring, and her background in family and consumer sciences makes her a perfect fit for our mission at Sneakz. Here’s a little more about Eden, in her own words:

🧠 Who Am I?

Hi! I’m Eden Bedoya, and ever since I was young, I’ve been curious about how people—especially kids—learn about food, nutrition, and healthy habits. One question that always stuck with me:

Where and when do schools actually begin to teach nutrition in a meaningful way?

That curiosity led me to pursue consumer sciences in high school and to help establish a chapter of FCCLA—Family, Career and Community Leaders of America—at my school.

šŸŽ What Is FCCLA?

FCCLA is a national student organization that helps young people build leadership and workplace skills while applying what they learn in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) classrooms.

Through FCCLA, students get to:

  • Balance career and family responsibilities

  • Build leadership and teamwork skills

  • Practice STEM and cooking techniques

  • Explore real-life applications of health, wellness, and food

It gave me and my classmates a way to learn outside the textbook—and help teach others along the way.

šŸ‘©šŸ³ What I Did

As part of FCCLA, I visited several elementary schools with my team. We led hands-on activities about cooking, nutrition, and food safety. I loved showing kids that food could be fun—not just something you have to eat, but something you can create and enjoy.

From making simple snacks to explaining how food fuels the body, I got to witness how empowering it is for kids to connect with what’s on their plate.

šŸ’” What I’m Doing at Sneakz

This summer, I’m:

  • 🧪 Creating a kids’ beverage for a national product development contest

  • āœļø Writing weekly blog updates about my process and what I’m learning

  • šŸ“Š Researching the best social media platform for Sneakz to grow our brand and newsletter

  • 🄣 Developing healthy recipes for kids that might one day be part of a Sneakz recipe book!

Most importantly, I’m here to learn, grow, and help Sneakz reach even more families with products and content that make healthy living easier—and more fun.

šŸ™Œ Let’s Do This

I’m excited to share this journey with you and can’t wait to see where it leads. Be sure to follow along—I’ll be posting updates, sneak peeks of my beverage development process, and maybe even a few messy kitchen bloopers. šŸ˜„

Thanks for having me, Sneakz family!
